Lightning over Capitals in 6 - Ovi continues to fail in the playoffs and the plot thickens in DC.

Bruins over Flyers in 7- Bean town gets revenge for the Flyers remarkable comeback last year.

West

Canucks over Predators in 6- Nashville proves to be a test, but Luongo shows improvement and shuts the door.

Sharks over Redwings in 6 - Overall series is close, but goal tending will get teams far in the second season. Niemi Shows strength and puts the team on his back.

Baseball is here!

Yes, I know baseball has been in full swing for months! I was hoping to get this out earlier, but it never happened! So you can call me a cheat or whatever you want, but all of these predictions were formulated before the season! So here is the first of my division by division coverage of the MLB!

AL East - Once again this will be one heck of a division. There are so many great teams, there will defiantly be two teams coming out of this division in October.
1. Boston Red Sox – With plenty of off season signings, the Sox will be tops this year. Good pitching and hitting will be around the entire year. Watch for them to lead the race for most of the year if not all of it.
2. New York Yankees – In any other division they would be a division champion. Derick Jeter and the older Yankees won’t be able to hold off the Sox. They will also lose some games to the up and coming Jays, Rays, and O’s. The Yankees will be contenders all throughout the season.
3. Tampa Bay Rays – They lost key players and replaced them with Johnny Damon but they are still a major force in the baseball world. With so many young players, they will outpace the Yankees for a bit but will fall late in the season.
4. Baltimore Orioles – With new manager Buck Showalter, the O’s are a new team. It showed in the later parts of the season. Still, it is the AL East. The Orioles will get a few wins this season, but will still be trailing the major teams by quite a few games.
5. Toronto Jays- They would be a threat in any other division. They just don’t have the firepower on either side of the ball to hang with the big dogs in the East.

NBA Playoffs

The first round has finally arrived on the road to the Finals! There are a lot of good story lines to watch for this year, but who has the best shot of winning? Well today I give you my first round predictions!

East - Very top heavy unlike the West. I think it will go pretty much chalk.

Bulls over Pacers in 4 - Derick Rose. 'Nuff said.

Heat over 76er's in 5 - The Miami Thrice slip up in one game, but still stay on track.

Celtics over Knicks in 6 - Carmelo and friends give the C's some trouble. Experience ultimately prevails!

Magic over Hawks in 6 - The magic figure out the Hawk puzzler they have had this year.

West- All the teams are very tough and could win any given night.

Spurs over Grizzlies in 5 - Best team in the West beats up on inexperience.

Lakers over Hornets in 5 - Three-peat drive stays alive!

Mavericks over Trail Blazers in 7 - Dirk and CO. squeak by a very good Blazers team.

Thunder over Nuggets in 6 - New look Nuggets pose a bit of a threat to OKC.

Look for the NBA Playoffs, they are always a treat!

Every Dog Has Their Day

March Madness comes to a close with the final buzzer of tonight’s National Championship game. It’s hard to tell which of these top dogs will be cutting down the nets. It could be the Uconn Huskies led by star guard Kemba Walker. Uconn could put up big numbers and continue the huge run they have had over the past two months. At the same time I can see Butler finding redemption from last year’s near miss loss against Duke. Well you have to pick someone right?
Butler v. Uconn
The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here. The National Championship is just a few mire hours away. Watch for Kemba Walker to dominate the beginning of this game. He will push the Huskies ahead with help from the rebounding center Alex Oriakhi. They won’t stay in the lead for long though. Shelvin Mack and Matt Howard will bring the Bulldogs back and close by halftime. In the second half Matt Howard will stay out of foul trouble and get to the line multiple times. With help from their role players the Butler Bulldogs will finally get the bone they deserve: The National Championship.

There you go!

The Final, Fantastic Four

The Final Four is here! Four teams have made the journey to Houston and are ready to do battle to become national champions! On one side we have Uconn and Kentucky; two programs with big history (9 combined titles), big coaches, and big players. On the other side, there are the Cinderellas VCU and Butler.
VCU v. Butler
This is the lowest combined seeding in the Final Four ever! This battle of Cinderellas will be action packed and one of the best games in the tourney. VCU has used early scoring and tough defense to make their run. I expect this to continue along with some good transition scoring. It won’t last for long though. The Butler Bulldogs will slowly force VCU to take contested jump shots. By the second half, Butler will take over the game. The experience they had with last year’s run will take hold and win this game. VCU is sure to keep it close so watch out for a nail biter!
Butler 71 VCU 68
Kentucky v. Uconn
These two perennial power houses meet for the second time this year. Uconn was able to prevail in their earlier meeting in Maui 84-67. This Kentucky team led by star guard Brandon Knight has gone through a lot of growth since then, but so has Uconn. Arguably two of the hottest teams in the NCAA right now, this game is going to be a barn burner. Kemba Walker and Brandon Knight will light up both ends of the court. The team that finds victory will have a great game from their role players. I believe that Uconn will have an overall better team performance and win in a final second situation.

Butler v. Uconn for all the marbles on April 4th!
